Private, fixed-fee pension and retirement guidance — not personal financial recommendations. Understand the difference.
About Pension Helper

Pension help for the questions that come before full financial advice.

Pension Helper is for people with a genuine pension or retirement-planning question who want more than generic information, but do not need, want or feel ready for a full financial-advice relationship.

Why we exist

There is a big gap between reading a general guide and hiring a full financial adviser.

Pension Helper was created for the people who fall into that gap.

You might be asking whether you could retire at 60, what deferring a pension changes, how several pensions fit together, what to check before consolidation — or simply what a letter or scheme feature means.

You may want your own figures explained and agreed scenarios illustrated, without committing to the cost or scope of a full ongoing advice relationship.

Pension Helper is designed for that middle ground. It explains and illustrates, but does not recommend a regulated course of action.

What good help should do

Clarity first. Pressure never.

Our approach is built around three simple ideas.

Start with your real question

You do not need to choose a technical service or learn pension terminology before asking for help. Submit the question and Paul will propose one of three published levels or a bespoke scope after reviewing it.

Use the information that matters to you

Depending on the question, we can bring together your pension figures, dates, income sources, spending assumptions and scheme information.

Be honest about the boundary

Sometimes free guidance, regulated advice, legal help or tax advice is the right route. We will say so rather than trying to stretch the service.

Meet the person behind Pension Helper

Hi, I’m Paul Bartlett, DipPFS.

I founded Pension Helper because people often have a real pension question long before they want or need a full financial-advice relationship.

I have spent much of my working life in financial services and know how difficult it can be to judge what matters, understand how the choices work and know where to begin.

Pension Helper is a founder-led service. I personally review each enquiry, decide whether the service can appropriately help, propose the scope and price, then prepare the accepted work.

How we work

Helpful, patient and clear.

Your question and price are agreed before any paid work starts.

Your work is prepared personally, not passed to a sales team.

We do not sell pension or investment products.

There are no ongoing percentage charges or subscriptions.

There is no judgement if the question has been put off for years.

One clarification is included if part of the explanation is unclear.

The clarity promise: our job is to make the subject understandable. If part of the explanation is unclear, we will explain it again.

Separate and transparent

A private service with clear boundaries.

Pension Helper stands on its own and is open about what it is — and what it is not.

Pension Helper is separate from Piccadilly Wealth Management Limited and does not operate under Piccadilly’s FCA permissions. Paul has a separate professional role there, but Pension Helper has its own brand and service.

Pension Helper is not connected with MoneyHelper, Pension Wise or the government. It provides private, paid guidance and explanation rather than personal financial recommendations.

Where regulated advice is needed, you remain free to choose your own FCA-authorised adviser.

You do not need to know the technical term for your question.

Tell us what you are trying to work out in ordinary language. We will tell you whether Pension Helper can help and what it will cost before you decide.
